مجموعة القاهرة هي جزء من مدرسة خارطة طريق أخرى لتعليم الفنون، وهي شبكة عالمية من الباحثين/ات والممارسين/ات في مجال تعليم الفنون في المدارس والجامعات والمتاحف والمؤسسات الثقافية والمراكز التعليمية والمنظمات القاعدية.
الأهداف الثلاثة للمدرسة هي :
- تحليل وثائق سياسات تعليم الفنون مع تركيز خاص على السياق المحلي
- البحث في تواريخ تعليم الفنون في ظل النيوليبرالية وتعليم الفنون الغربي الإستعماري وهيمنات أخرى سابقة وحالية
- بحث وتدبير البدائل
مدرسة خارطة طريق أخرى هي مساحة لتبادل ممارسات تعليم الفنون، و التجريب في توثيق وتواصل الخبرات بهدف إجراء الأبحاث مع التركيز على طرق العمل وتشجيع استخدام منهجيات البحث القائمة على الممارسة والفعل.
مجموعة القاهرة هي جزء من وحدة أكبر داخل المدرسة مهتمة بتاريخ تعليم الفنون في أفريقيا وبالتواريخ المتشابكة لهجرة الأفكار والممارسات المتعلقة بتعليم الفنون من سياق لآخر .
مجموعة القاهرة
يربطنا كمجموعة، اهتمام مشترك بتفاصيل التطبيق العملي للمنهجيات والمفاهيم التربوية في مجال تعليم الفنون. الاشتباك النقدي مع هذه المنهجيات ومع السياقات المختلفة لتعليم الفنون بالنسبة لنا، يبدأ بالنظر إلى تفاصيل تطبيقها، من أول كيفية تنظيم مساحة التعلم والعلاقات ما بين المشاركين/ات فيها مروراًِ إلى البعد التاريخي الذي يظهر في مفهومنا كممارسين/ات عن ما هو ممكن ومتوقع داخل حقل تعليم الفن. نعمل كمجموعة على اختبار وتجريب أفكارنا من أجل ديناميات بديلة لتشارك المعرفة والخبرات في تنظيمنا لذاتنا وفي طرق تناولنا لاهتماماتنا البحثية. فنحن نبحث في الأساس عن سرديات ومبادرات لتعليم الفنون النقدي ومشاركة المعرفة والخبرات تتفاوض مع علاقات القوى المحيطة وترى نفسها في ضوء تطور المبادرات الشبيهة عبر التاريخ. نرى مجموعتنا بصفتها محاولة مماثلة للتنظيم الذاتي وتيسير هجرة الأفكار لسياقات جديدة تتطور من خلالها في اتجاهات مختلفة. ونطمح من خلال نشاط المجموعة إلى خلق مخزون من الممارسات والمفاهيم في مجال تعليم الفنون مرتبط بواقعنا المحلى وقادر على زعزعة الهيمنة النيوليبرالية وقادر أيضاً أن يأخذنا إلى مساحة نستطيع من خلالها إعادة تشكيل علاقات القوى في مجال الفن والثقافة.
وبينما ينخرط بعض أعضاء المجموعة في موضوعات بحث فردية على مدى زمني أطول، وجدنا نقط تلاقي عدة بين مشاريعنا الفردية. فتَعبر سرديات وأماكن وتواريخ وشخصيات البحث الواحد إلى البحث الآخر وتتداخل التفاصيل لتبرز أوجه الشبه أو الاختلاف ما بينهم.
موضوعات الاهتمام المشتركة للمجموعة:
التواريخ المحلية لتعليم الفنون البديل
تلتزم المجموعة بالبحث في التواريخ المحلية المتنوعة – وخاصةً المهمشة منها- لتعليم الفنون وتبتغي بذلك الوصول إلى تعريف أكثر تفصيلاً حول ماهية “تعليم الفنون النقدي”الذي يمكن أن يُعبر عن السياق الخاص بمصر. من خلال البحث في النماذج التاريخية وعمل اﻷفراد والمبادرات الناشطة حاليًا في تعليم الفنون، ترجو المجموعة أن تصل إلى فهم أفضل لتعقيدات المجال. نحن، كمجموعة، نؤمن أن تأثير المفاهيم والنظريات البديلة لتعليم الفنون مشترط بإدراجه في ممارسات الحياة اليومية.
إمكانية التغيير والتحول من الداخل
إمكانية التحول من الداخل في الهياكل القائمة بالفعل مثل المؤسسات والمنظمات الفنية و/أو التعليمية هي إحدى اهتمامات المجموعة الرئيسية. نأمل في خلق فهم أكثر تفصيلاً للعلاقة بين اﻷفراد والمبادرات الصغيرة من متعلمي وممارسي تعليم الفنون ومؤسسات الفن والتعليم، كما نتساءل حول أشكال المساءلة والمعيارية التي يمكن أن تساعد في تلك العملية.
التنظيم الذاتي وإعادة التوزيع واﻹقتصادات البديلة
تشارك مجموعة القاهرة اهتمامها بالبنية التحتية والظروف المادية للتعلم وكيفية ارتباطها باﻷسئلة حول الاستقلالية والتنظيم الذاتي والعلاقة مع المجتمع. نؤمن بأن تعليم الفنون “البديل” أو “النقدي” يتطلب النظر في تأملات وموائمات عملية للاقتصادات البديلة واﻷشكال اﻷخرى من التنظيم.

أعضاء المجموعة الحاليين هم نور الصافوري، وحسين الحاج، ورنا النمر، وأندريا طال.
تستعد المجموعة حاليًا ﻹقامة ملتقى عامًا حول تعليم الفنون النقدي، والذي سيقام في القاهرة في النصف الثاني من شهر نوفمبر. تلتقي المجموعة بصفة أسبوعية وتتبع بعض اهتمامات البحث المشتركة معًا. يمكنكم/ن معرفة أكثر من خلال القائمة على ايمن الصفحة.
تاريخنا
تأسست مجموعة القاهرة في 2015. يرتبط جميع أعضاء المجموعة بمركز الصورة المعاصرة، رغم أن علاقتنا بالمركز بالنسبة لبعضنا هي واحدة من ضمن الارتباطات مع منظمات أخرى أو يعمل بعضنا اﻵن في أماكن أخرى. وحيث يشغل جميعنا مناصب مختلفة في مجال الفنون والثقافة ومؤسساتها، تبرز أهمية العمل على إيجاد طرق للعمل معًا تتيح إمكانية إعادة تشكيل أو كسر التراتبيات الهرمية واﻷوضاع المترسخة. وبينما نستكمل العثور على طرق وبنيات عمل مناسبة، يقدم لنا تاريخ التربية النقدي والتعليم الشعبي وحيًا ورؤيا مهمة.
حتى اﻵن، حضر أعضاء المجموعة إجتماعات مدرسة خارطة طريق أخرى لتعليم الفنون في أوغندا عام 2015، كما حضرنا اجتماع وحدة التواريخ المتشابكة في ساو باولو في 2016، وثاني اجتماعات مجموعة أفريقيا في جوهانسبرج في 2017.
The Cairo Working Group is part of Another Roadmap School (link), an international network of researchers and practitioners of art education working in schools and universities, museums and cultural institutions, educational centers and grassroots organizations.
The three main objectives of Another Roadmap School are:
- To analyze policy documents with a special focus on local context
- Researching local histories of arts education in the context of neoliberalism, colonial westernised arts education and other past and present hegemonies
- Plotting alternatives
Another Roadmap School is a site for the exchange of practices, allowing for experimentation in the documentation and communication of approaches to and experiences with art education. It aims to approach “research” with an emphasis on process, fostering action and practice-based research methodologies.
The Cairo Working Group is part of a larger cluster in the Another Roadmap School interested in researching histories of art education in Africa and the Intertwining HIStories cluster interested in the migration histories of concepts and practices related to art education.
Cairo Working Group
As a group, a concern for the details of how educational concepts and methodologies are applied is the connection cutting across our different research interests. For us, critically engaging with art education and mediation starts from a closer look at the dynamics of how people work together and exchange knowledge. We are interested in the details of how and why people sit together in a common space of learning, the power structures embedded and resisted within such an assembly and the collective histories shaping our understanding of what potential settings of learning and exchange hold. The Cairo Working Group is a site within which we find and experiment with various approaches to learning, doing research and self-organizing. Through tracing how concepts and methodologies of art education travelled from one context to another and their relationship to different hegemonies, we also hope to contribute to a body of knowledge and a set of practices that resist the neoliberalisation of culture and education and work toward redistribution of resources and power.
As some members of the group pursue individual research topics over a longer period of time, the narratives, places, dates and figures that appear in one such story sometimes cross over to another forming a conversation and amplifying or disrupting aspects of one another.
Shared topics of interest for the group
- Local histories of alternative art education
The group is committed to research the diverse local histories of art education and – based on that research – to arrive at a more detailed definition of what “critical art education” could stand for in our specific context in Egypt. Through researching the historical examples and the work of initiatives and individuals currently active in art education, the group hopes to gain a better understanding of the complexity of the field. As a group, we believe that the transgressive potential of alternative concepts and theories of art education can only be effective when translated into an everyday practice. It is those relatively “small” gestures of how concepts are applied that we intend to give special attention to.
- Possibility for transformation / change from within
The possibility of transformation from within already existing structures such as institutions or organisations of art and/or education is a key interest of the group. We hope to create a more detailed understanding of the relationship individuals and small initiatives by art education practitioners and learners have to art and education institutions and to ask what forms of accountability and measurement might be helpful in this process.
- Self-organisation and alternative economies / redistribution
The Cairo Working Group shares an interest in the material conditions and infrastructures for learning and how they relate to questions of autonomy, self-organisation and the relationship to communities. We believe that an “alternative” or “critical” art education would need to include reflections and practical adaptations of alternative economies and other forms of organisation.

Currently the Cairo Working Group is preparing for a public gathering dedicated to critical art education that will take place in Cairo in the second half of November 2017. The group meets weekly and pursues some of the shared research interests together. Furthermore some members of the group engage in more in-depth research in their personal areas of interest. Our History
The Cairo Working Group started in 2015. Current members of the Cairo Working Group all have a connection to the Contemporary Image Collective (CiC), though our relationship to the institution is for some one of several affiliations with other organisations, seasonal or some of us now work in other places. As we all occupy different positions within the arts and culture field and its institutions it has become a matter of increasing importance for us to find ways of working together that have the potential to reconfigure hierarchies and fixed subject positions. As we continue to find suitable working processes and structures, histories of critical pedagogy and popular education have offered inspiration and valuable insight.
So far, members of the group have attended the inaugural meetings of the African cluster in Uganda in 2015, as well as the Intertwining HIStories cluster meeting in San Paulo in 2016 and the 2nd Africa cluster meeting in Johannesburg in 2017.
